1986
Gore is formed by bassist and lyricist Rob Frey a.k.a. Marij Hel, drummer Danny Arnold Lome and guitarist Pieter de Sury. Their debut album is called Hart Gore.
1987
Although the band's next album, Mean Man's Dream, offers more of the same and is greeted with mixed reviews by the Dutch press, it is very well received abroad. Also released this year is Live. One side of this record is for Gore while on the other side Frey's friend Henry Rollins can be heard.
1988
Gore is one of the Dutch bands to go to the New Music Seminar in New York, but cannot convince the Americans of its talent. The band signs with Megadisc and records the double album Wrede/The Cruel Peace, which is produced by Steve Albini. The album becomes a commercial fiasco and Frey decides to break the band up.

1992
In a new line-up Gore returns form the ashes with new album Lifelong Deadline. On this album the band's familiar, heavily orchestrated sound is enriched with the piano, folksy tunes and absurd conversations.

In July Gore appears for the second time at the New Music Seminar in New York. This time around they play at the The Knitting Factory. Among the crowd are many key players out of NY's noise scene such as Jim 'Foetus' Thirlwell and Norman Westberg (Swans).
1996
Gore releases a new album called Mest/694'3, which is welcomed cooly by the Dutch press.
1997
6000 copies of the band's CD Slow Death are distributed for free with the magazine Gonzo Circus.
